Kashmiri Tribal Earrings - Vintage Crescent Earrings - Belly Dance

Handmade vintage earrings have a thicker ear wire. These often cannot be worn by those who have not worn heavy earrings or stretched their piercings at least a bit. They can be worn as earrings in stretched piercings, through tunnels, or can be attached to a headpiece or other costume accessory.  You can even attach modern gauge hooks to the ear wires to wear through western piercings since they are fairly lightweight for their size.  These pieces are fully made by hand and there may be slight differences between the two. Please note that these are USED earrings and the wires should be thoroughly cleaned before wearing through piercings.

Kashmiri jewelry is often large and showy or if smaller is worn in addition to other pieces.  The mountainous regions of far northeastern Afghanistan, northern Pakistan, Kashmir and northern India are a trove of jewelry designs.  Here many cultures overlap and jewelry styles intertwine and meld, becoming seemingly familiar and yet distinctly different.  Materials, techniques and ideas are borrowed, passed along and reworked into amazing pieces.
