Red Copal Resin Beads - XL Moroccan Berber Faux Amber

String of huge faux amber beads from Morocco.  These beads are really REALLY big, please see measurements photos of beads in hand and with measuring tape.  Beads are graduated in size from 1.5 inches across up to 2.25 inches across.  This string of beads is not intended as a necklace - there are no ties or other means of securing and the beads are temporarily strung on cord.  These beads are heavy and weigh almost 3 pounds altogether.  Perfect for using on jewelry projects such as large Moroccan style necklaces. To be worn as a necklace, restring on cord with ties or another means of securing.  

These beads are handmade in Morocco from tree resins and shaped into all sizes of beads.  Because of they are handmade, they are not perfectly round and reflect the tribal nature of their origin.  Copal beads have been made in North Africa for many many years and incorporated into local jewelry styles . They are made in many colors, from beautiful amber yellow to orange to cherry red.  Each handmade bead has a fairly large hole for stringing onto necklaces or other projects.  Copal beads are sometimes coated in varnish to improve color and shine.  Beautiful string of beads from tribal Morocco!
