Big vintage beaded necklace from Morocco includes glass seed beads and copal resin beads. Beaded portion measures about 22 inches, but there are ties on each end so could be tied to measure up to about 28 inches or so. Traditional colors, including the blue, green and coral red for protection and of course the lovely amber colors of the copal beads. A traditional style using traditional components and bright colors to keep that pesky evil eye at bay!
Copal is a type of tree resin used to form beads. These beads have been used for centuries in Berber cultures and come in many earthy colors, varying from yellow to deep gold to shades of red and brown. They are still made today to incorporate into new jewelry.

A NOTE ON THE CONDITION OF TRIBAL ITEMS: Our jewelry is used tribal jewelry, from faraway lands. As used pieces the condition of our items will reflect their prior lives as treasured tribal pieces. Please know that we strive to maintain the tribal allure of our items and therefore we do not clean or repair these pieces in any way. We leave that choice to the buyer, as each may prefer something different. This not only maintains the old, tribal look of each piece that our belly dance customers seek, but also preserves the value of a piece that cleaning might diminish.
