Vintage Telsum and Faux Amber Beaded Necklace - Colors of Ethiopia - Belly Dance

Beaded necklace with three telsum pendants, faux amber and crystal beads.  Faux amber beads join smaller glass, metal and stone in traditional Moroccan colors of amber, green and orange.  Vintage and new beads sourced from across the globe make a warm, pleasing combination of colors.  Telsum are small triangular and crescent-shaped prayer boxes and are worn for their protective properties.  The triangular pieces are believed to fend off evil spirits and the evil eye, while the rounded pieces protect against spells of the crescent moon. This necklace is newly strung on beading wire with a decorative S clasp at the back.  Part of the Colors of Ethiopia Collection from Red Camel Designs.
