Large Kashmiri Amulet Pendant - Vintage Tribal Etched Box Pendant

Vintage Kashmiri box amulet pendant necklace on yarn with pom-tassels. This pendant is very large and may have been used in the household as a protective amulet to bring luck or ward off malevolent spirits. The mountainous region of far northeastern Afghanistan, northern Pakistan, the Kashmir and northern India are a trove of jewelry designs. Here many cultures overlap and jewelry styles intertwine and meld, becoming seemingly familiar and yet distinctly different.

Pendant Size: 4 inches long, including bale and 4.5 inches wide. About 1 half inch deep.
Pendant Details: Intricate etched design, 5 red glass jewels.
Materials:  Mixed Metals
Metal Color:  Silvery, slightly tarnished
Metal Finish:  Unpolished 
Closure: Cord is a closed loop - no hook or ties.
Additional Info: Yarn could be replaced with ties for an easier way wear as a necklace.
Using this piece as a household amulet would be true to it’s original intent.
