Vintage Kuchi Tribal Cuff Bracelet - Jeweled Cuff for Belly Dance

Single vintage Kuchi tribal cuff bracelet features red and blue glass jewels and a very brassy, almost gold, metal color.  Pin and hinge design.  This is a vintage cuff that has been cleaned and restored to it's original glory.  All jewels are in place and the pin fits tightly.  Kuchi Afghan cuffs are part of the original tribal belly dance jewelry ensemble.  Original glass jewels are secure and new (glass) turquoise insets have been added, this cuff has been cleaned and is fully wearable.  

The story of Kuchi jewelry, like all tribal jewelry, is rich with influences from many cultures. These beautiful pieces with colorful glass jewels and jingling bells originally came from the nomadic Pashtoon tribes that wandered the border areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan, along ancient routes between the seasons, moving down from the mountains in the winter and back to higher elevations in the summer. The word Kuchi itself is derived from a Persian word meaning migration, in relation to nomads, and does not describe a particular group or people, but rather a state of being.
